Hi, I’m Prothama ("Pro") Manna, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University, working with Dr. Shyamalika Gopalan. My current research investigates how natural selection and genetic drift jointly shape differences in complex trait genetic architecture across populations.
I received a PhD in Biological Sciences from Ohio University, where I worked with Dr. Diego Alvarado-Serrano. My doctoral research examined how ecological and evolutionary processes shape the fate of invasive species, integrating population genomic data, macroecological analyses, and demographic simulations.
In addition to my research, I currently serve as Chair of the Graduate Student Advisory Committee of the Society for the Study of Evolution (SSE).
Outside of research, I enjoy cooking and digital painting.
